Negotiating CREW RATES
Here are some checklist points suggested by Simon & Wise that
we agree should be on everyone's checklist when it comes to
negotiating crew rates:
1.Schedule
2.Hourly or weekly rates
3.Kit Rentals
4.Meals
5.Pre-Production/technical survey days
6.Travel Days
7.Per diems, lodging, etc
8.Pay day (s)
9.Payroll taxes for non-union crews
10.Credits
11.Profit Sharing (if applicable or necessary)
12.Deferments (if applicable or necessary)
It's important that you find out whether your crew is part
of a union or not because unions require minimum payroll
salaries/pension/health/vacation/holiday fringes where non
union members are generally not paid for holidays.
